Eric Pierce is a veteran sound guy with over forty years in the industry. He cut his teeth early with legendary SoCal sound company ATK / AudioTek, working under Scott Harmala. With a keen eye towards television production, ATK’s mix of traditional concert live sound and broadcast-oriented special event work especially interested him. After working as a production mixer for game shows, sitcoms and Sports production for much of the next 15 years, including an initial tour of duty with Los Angeles’ KTLA in the 90’s, Pierce went solo and went on to work as Production Mixer on a number of high-profile sitcoms, including “Eight Simple Rules” and “Yes, Dear”.
He went to back to KTLA in 2018, and in 2022 took over the production sound for the Rose Parade, finding that the quality of this annual chestnut had deteriorated. He has made it his mission to bring it back to it’s glory. We’re tickled to be a part of that!
Eric spec’d the V44S specifically for KTLA’s annual coverage of the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena when he took over sound for it a couple of years ago. Since then, he’s found numerous opportunities to use his EIGHT(!) V44S stereo mics in various applications from in-studio music events to the Red Carpet at myriad awards ceremonies held in Hollywood.
We love Eric because he’s a sound professional who’s uncompromising as a craftsperson. He has a love for what he does and isn’t satisfied with “good enough”. We want to to support what he does and we’re so happy to welcome him to the family!
